designer, writer, artist, storyteller
I use paper collage as a framework for my storytelling. I hold open a place for whatever wants to come forward, allowing ideas that swirl around in my subconscious to become formed. Usually the shadows
have more attraction for me, not because the articulation of joy is foreign. Rather, I find greater texture in the uncomfortable layers.
The exploration of women’s issues offers a great opportunity for deconstruction and reassembly. Layering other’s experiences on top
of my observations; my storytelling (visual and written) is intended to be provocative. I design for my own pleasure and to make purposeful connections both with and for the viewer.
The intention behind my work is to invite conversation about challenging topics, and to help bring light into the darkness.
