Through the medium of collage, I use my visual voice to express ideas, concepts and themes that intrigue me and stimulate deeper thought. I like to use ordinary glue sticks, scissors, and fashion magazines to tell contemporary stories, mostly about women.
I arrange images until my compositions look and feel compelling. For me designing is a luxurious, intuitive process. I enhance my narratives by ripping rather than cutting edges and by restraining the color palette.
Some compositions are scanned and printed with archival inks onto archival paper without benefit of image manipulation. Prints are altered with various materials (colored pencils, markers, paper scraps). Hand stitching and/or adding other objects becomes the final step in my hybrid artwork.
